day and night -wip- by MidnightTea7 day and night -wip- by MidnightTea7
Another weekly art challenge - and this time it's by :icondaekazu:, :iconteanah:, :iconvinegar: and :iconwashuuchan:^^!
For each challenge we interchangeably give ourselves an idea or topic to illustrate and a week to execute it in whatever shape or form... of course, without knowing what the others are going to come up with :)

This week's topic is =daekazu's idea: Day and Night as a man and a woman..

Argh, and I mean ARGH! I've had time to actually push this work to more finished state... if only my computer hadn't decide to play stupid and waste a lot of my work and time in order to fix things.

Anyway - to be frank I've had quite a few ideas, but none really stuck enough for me to consider it good enough to illustrate. Soooo... I've decided to use a good, old form over substance formula and went totally crazy with it xD

I suppose it's easy to tell that I quite like drawing fabrics and hair X3

This WILL be finished and colored ASAP, so... stay tuned :)

edit: Still gotta color it, but at least both linearts are more or less finished :)

Wow, this is really pretty and elaborate :D I love this challenge you guys do as a group. May I color the lineart one day? I'd only post it on dA and you'll be credited fully and the piece will be watermarked to keep from being stolen. If not no big deal. I really like the lineart and concept - I can't wait to see you color it!

Sure, if its for coloring practice and with credits, feel free to do so :)

And thanks^^

As for coloring it myself - yeah, that's long overdue XD;;; Gonna think of finishing it soon!

Yep, it's for practice only and I'll ask your permission if I want to post it on my blog or something. other than that it'll just be up here on dA with full credits and watermarks - thank you so much!

I understand :) I hope everything's going well for you~

I love the Art Deco feel to these panels! (I'm a huge art deco fan but I'm no expert, so tell me if this is more art nouveau).

While I haven't been aiming at any *exact* style, I have to say that this one is more art nouveau'ish :) While both art movements are related (art deco is, after all, a 'successor' of art nouveau), art deco is much more geometric than art nouveau, which has a more organic feeling.

Thanks for the info! It's beautiful either way.

Oh, this is absolutely gorgeous! I love the differences in the costumes and the different cultures represented there. Absolutely gorgeous! :)
